     My name is James

October 21 1743 

     I am a store clerk who is heading to Minnesota from Canada looking for a business opportunity. Because I can read and write, many people longed for my employment. I decided to join the North West company because I felt that I could make a living and profit by joining them as a store clerk. I am currently making my way across lake Superior and will be arriving at a trading post soon. I am very tired so I will be finishing this entry before resting for the remainder of my journey.

  My name is:james  My role is: store clerk Diary Entry 3: today while I was writing in my journal when an explosion of hunters started coming in and giving me pelts and wanting me to give them all sorts of things. I was in a state of bliss as I was trading with all these people. This was the most business i had ever done in the fur trade no, this was the most business i had done in my entire life! When the people left I realized how long it would take me to catalogue all this, but I was still happy because I’m going to be a very rich man.
